Amerigo Vespucci (Spain) discovers the coast of Brazil from the Amazon River to Cape San Rogue at the outer tip of the "Bulge."

Juan Ponce de Leon (Spain) discovers the coast of Florida from Mosquito Inlet to Charlotte Harbour.
1519-22 Ferdinand Magellan (Portugal) circumnavigates the globe.
1519-23 Hernando Cortez (Spain) conquers the Aztec Empire in Mexico.
